The wide-ranging discussion looks at how Port-au-Prince’s armed groups came to be and are resisting foreign military intervention, how Haiti’s entire “political class” has sold out, and how U.S. progressives can support the struggle in Haiti.

  1. This is fabulous. I can’t wait to share it with my Haitian neighbor and his 18 yo son. I feel so blessed to have these 2 men willimg to teach me more about their culture. Unlike the many hateful immigrants we see the stories of on nightly news, I have found the majority of Haitian people to be kind, family oriented and welcoming people. I am a 65 yo disabled widow that lives alone. Among the many challenges of my life, my neighbors never allow me to experience the full burden of loneliness. They have my back and I have theirs. Thank you for opening up a new conversation for me.
