cad/cam includes many reference information objects, such as walls and doors, that are usually placed in a particular location relative to other objects in the drawing. each of these reference objects includes a set of properties. properties are a set of rules that define the content and formatting of the objects. a property can be assigned to an object type, which provides a unique set of properties for the object. in addition, properties can be assigned to blocks, which provides a unique set of properties for the blocks in the drawing.
generates a geometric surface based on an array of data points. a point object can contain elevation, slope, digital elevation model (dem), or digital terrain model (dtm). using the elevation, slope, or dem, or dtm information, an object is created that simulates the ground at a particular location. an example of a point object is a contour point. the contour point can be inserted on an autocad map and then used to create the contour. the point will then appear as a feature on the map or on a profile or a cross-section.
an object that depicts a linear feature, such as a wall or foundation. the main function of a linear object is to model a linear feature that is placed in space. if the drawing is in 3d, the feature may be a wall and the object may be a wall object.
