The photo jpeg preview looks like what a high-end camera would give. Very appealing. It’s not just a small window on top of the image, but a full frame to examine the photo. While the app doesn’t discriminate jpegs from RAW images, it does appear to be quite quick to work with it. LR 2012, and the new updates seem to have made a lot of crap faster. (Not saying its crap, some things like video are just faster) Are you going to be able to easily apply the default curves to your photos?
I use Photoshop CS6 in the limited sense I can. I’m a graphic designer so the tools and features are what I gravitate towards. I like how the clipping path works in improve my final product. Each layer and clipping path works with the image so its not part of the JPEG. I haven’t found problems with the file sizes being smaller yet. My computer getting faster obviously speeds things up too. I’ve done a lot of editing in both Elements and Photoshop and I prefer Elements.
Everyone I work with is having trouble getting used to the iPad/iPad Pro interface. This is a big step down in usage. They are missing the 360 degree view and product specific tweaks you would normally get from the desktop version. The iPad just does not have the functionality yet. The desktop version is much better for a lot of things. Filters out of the box. The crop tool is great but sometimes it seems to crop the eyes or tell me it is too close.
