Love this feature! I am a Photoshop user since its first version. My first impression was : “Wait, why did they add this feature?”. But, I was wrong! This feature is really useful and appropriate. I want to thank the Adobe team for that!
The feature I’ve been looking for since digital cameras came along! The Photoshop team has done a great job with this. I have started reviewing my pictures as soon as I develop them and it is now much easier than in the past. The Editor window is even now if I only want to make a quick comment without saving. I was pleasantly surprised and happy to find that is was possible to do this without Adobe actually giving me a free copy of Photoshop for nothing. But if I want to do a full review and save the image it opens a review tab. Although this was not clear in the documentation I find this feature a lot of useful. Now when I see a picture I like I only need to use the mouse to hover over a comment with my cursor and a dialogue box will appear, containing the comment. And this comment can be marked as wanted to keep. And if you respond it comes up in my review tab in the folder. What a great convenience this is. Nice feature. Well done Adobe.
This version is really nice and does what it says it does. Really like the idea of being able to preview comments without opening the file. Easy to see and address any issues or just empathize with the author. Very good way to communicate between designer and reviewer.
Lightroom has been a solid piece of software for many years. Its user interface is intuitive, and I have come to expect certain features will perform just as flawlessly as I’ve seen in the past. My Lightroom 5 review will contain a detailed walkthrough of all features, so let’s get started with the review: 933d7f57e6
The most obvious fact to know after looking at an image in the Photoshop Viewer is the tool set available to manipulate it. The first thing to look at is the menu bar at the top of the window; use the arrow buttons to pull the menu bar down. At the bottom of the window is what Photoshop calls a Global Settings bar, where you can select a threshold, color balance, level, and so on; there are analogous bars at the top, bottom, and left of the image window to control the same things.
In many ways, the interface in both the full-screen version, the Windows version, and the web version should be familiar to users of Photoshop for Windows and the older Macintosh versions. The tools are the same, and use the same panel menus. And Photoshop is one of the easiest software applications to navigate.
Once you’ve gone through the initial setup, the rest of the interface is fairly simple. Basic editing like cropping, rotating, straightening, and adjusting brightness and hue is easy. You can also use layer attributes to change the opacity or color of an individual layer.
The new feature to approve or reject comments from the reviewer in real time is superb. I use these for quick tasks that need my attention which allows me to concentrate on finishing the design. The reviewer can change their mind and I can send their comments back for approval before saving the file. This could go a long way toward encouraging more peer review for the designers who don’t have anyone reviewing their work. Avg. C.R.
