Misaka Mikoto Mugen Character 41
Misaka Mikoto Mugen Character 41
Right now, it’s to be expected that we’ll be seeing a lot of Mitama and Kamachi. And that’s fine. We understand their mission in terms of increasing the population and we have absolutely no reason to criticize it for that purpose. But we should not be under any illusion that their only purpose is to be there, and yet I have the feeling that that’s where this has gone. Kamachi, not as a character per se, but as a person, is downright interesting. His conflicts with his family and Mitama really made me think and it was a refreshing read. Kamijou on the other hand… He’s a bit of a Peter Pan type character, almost inconsequential in terms of change. He has his own stories to tell and yet he falls to the wayside to allow more important things to take priority. And that just makes him a bit too much of a “throwaway” character to me. I’m not saying that he shouldn’t be the important antagonist, but at the moment, I personally think it’s a bit too much of a one-note type antagonist, and if the stories continue for another long set of volumes and another longer series it’s going to grow stale. Personally, I’m actually only in the battle story currently, and even it, I’m not sure if I want to continue for any further series.
Jackie Chan is an iconic figure in the world of kung fu movies. He made his first film in 1972, and quickly became a cult icon, usually shown as the villain. He has appeared in most large budget kung fu flicks from the 1970s to today, and some of his stunts, including numerous broken bones, are considered to be the highest levels of “extreme stunts” by American stuntpeople. The most famous of his characters wasJet Lias Hung Chien (simplified Chinese: 恭培治; Traditional Chinese: 恭先達).
Kamachi says that one of the biggest questions is whether or not Impa will ever remember what she was subjected to. I think it’s pretty clear though that regardless of what happens, she’ll be choosing Arima over Oto-sensei. And since Arima is the only character Kamachi is proud of (he even calls him his owncharacter), it can be assumed that he wants to see where this would end.
I think I get the point, it’s absolute nothing compared to the overwhelming odds against YOU, but I’m always going to be the odd person out in saying that. Personally, I think it’s a completely unique and interesting aspect of Mikoto’s character. Something I wouldn’t really see elsewhere in the stories. As I said before, a character’s power level is extremely important but I find Mikoto’s use of hers somewhat ironic at the same time. Mikoto received her abilities literally on the day she was born from the death of her mother and can use them however she pleases. Yet despite this ability, she is a virgin. Most people, in her world, would think this is a tragedy, but this is exactly what draws her in to the battle. It’s another way in which Kyouko serves as a surrogate for the readers, the reason this young teen is so conflicted is her own mother. And at that age she wouldn’t have had much of a chance of doing anything, she’s far from born yet with the ability to decide such an important thing as her own sexual life at that age. Her sexuality is not her right or her choice, but it is her own destiny, and that of her own mother too.
As you can see, this is not about overemphasizing her importance. Again, she is a very important character but there is no doubt that this is incredibly underestimated. The character has a lot of depth and backstory, both in terms of her appearance and in terms of what makes her tick. She’s a character for a reason, her developing is genuine and emotional in an industry where many of the characters are just there to be there. All of the aspects that make her important are present in abundance, and I can’t wait to see where she gets to in the rest of the story and other things that are inspired by her!
