About Microbial Air Monitoring
Pollution of air by microorganisms can make the air a vector for the spread of respiratory infectious diseases. Therefore, airborne microorganisms need to be detected to identify potential sources of contamination and take appropriate preventative measures. To detect the type and quantity of microorganisms in the air, samples are taken from a sampler with a special device, and then the collected air samples are counted by incubation in a culture medium. There are many factors that affect the counting of microorganisms, including the method of capturing airborne microorganisms, the killing effect on microorganisms during the capture process, and the choice of incubation temperature and medium.
