Adobes Creative Suite is back, and it has been in development for almost a decade. Gone is the Adobe Creative Suite Classic that was first available in September of 2005. Why do I say this is new? Adobe’s blog says the release is a creative suite that is “designed for today’s pros and aspiring pros working with photos, video, websites, and more.” In other words, it has much in common with the new Lightroom which, in my opinion, is a dedicated photography program, though it does offer some of the features of the creative suite. You can set the dashboard by collecting and organizing your assets, or you can keep looking by diving in and diving out, as the tool is designed for users with a wide array of interests.
The next couple of months will undoubtedly be a busy period for all my readers. You’re going to be buying a new computer system! For those of you that are replacing or upgrading your computer with a new graphics card, or a new operating system, it’s time to consider a new computer.A new computer can be an exciting process, this time of year, especially when it comes to your next iteration of Adobe Photoshop.Adobe actually has two versions for Windows, one for Mac OS, and the new stuff for a new version of their flagship software is always worth taking a look at. There are a few things you may notice in 19.1.1 that are new or different. I’ve checked it out, I absolutely love it, and you should be getting a copy tomorrow. Every release of Adobe Photoshop is a great opportunity to learn about new features, as well as hear from some of their AI experts and what social media would be doing in your creative life.A few things you should pay attention to when downloading:- Copy your existing Photoshop files automatically to your new computer.- Install the latest updates on your operating system if you haven’t already.- You’re going to be connecting to your new computer via the internet, and you need to set your router to forward port 80 to your home computer.- If you don’t already have your license key, you need to get it into Adobe and have it renewed. – If you bought a Valid Upgrade Key before, you can still use it.- If you bought a CS5 or CS6 upgrade key a few years ago, you need to buy a new CS6 license key using your creative registration code.- If you bought a CS6, CS7, CS8, CS4 or CS5 upgrade key with a valid Creative Cloud account, there are three different techniques you can use; – Use your creative registration code. Only use if prior to your new computer. This is the simplest method, and you only need one account.– Buy a new CS6 key for your Creative Cloud account. It is the first option on the list and will provide you with the best experience from your upgrade for Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and other Creative Suite applications.– Upgrade your Adobe Creative Cloud account to access the Adobe Creative Cloud – Apps & services sub-menu within Creative Suite. The Creative Cloud Apps & services sub-menu (home to the Adobe IOS apps, Illustrator, Photoshop, and other major Creative Suite 6 apps) is now integrated into the cloud where your apps are always available in the cloud (online), and you can download apps and updates when you need, or simply go down to the cloud and perform the download. But if you skip this step, you won’t be able to download additional Creative Suite apps in the future. When you open your license key and select “Redeem” from within the Creative Cloud App menu, you’ll see an option displayed for you to purchase the Creative Cloud if you haven’t already. There are no extra fees to get the Creative Cloud, and it is a great way to stay current on Adobe’s applications. This is going to be a different article and I’ll have to create a new one, once I get my new copy of Photoshop up and running and the dust has settled. Big changes are in store, so watch for it!If you have any questions or concerns I’d be happy to answer them. 933d7f57e6
A side of the menu of features in the new version. The menus can be displayed or hidden at the same time as the main menu. What used to be one of the stock most important screen functions—where one could select the exact type of crops one would like at a given Display—is now in the feature menu (top-center). This function can now be found in the Crop feature, which also offers the ability to do manual crops from any View, not just the ones made with sliders. The new crop tool includes radial and lasso tools, as well as a brush. A new “Brush with…” menu lets creation of stencils, which are used to create masking and blending effects. This function can be set to create multiple effects automatically—you have to enter a foreground/background color combination manually.
ABOVE: Lightroom 6 on OSX is scheduled for release in March 2020, since the review will be published at that time. BELOW: This journal from Lightroom 5 on OSX was created using the App for Android and App for iOS. The journal can reside in your Photo Library, and you can take it with you, open it on the go, and add more photos with new entries.
Most new features in the Applications and Filmstrip panels mirror those in the Elements panel, as described earlier in the review, as well as in an earlier review of Lightroom 5. They automatically update as new versions come out.
