Thankfully, the workflow of editing from the moment I select an image to after the finished product looks just as good as ever. I was prepared for a few things, but they are actually the same – namely, that Adobe has finally made the big #1 feature improvement to their Photoshop app: One click actions. Using actions has always been a bit of a process in photoshop. It was a “SOLID” matter of going through a series of steps to do the same editing, over and over.
Let me level this by saying that this is probably the most powerful photo editing software available anywhere. I’m not going to take a different route of saying that this is the best, after all, why not? Adobe is the only company that offers so many different editing options for so many different files. I’ll qualify it by saying that it is probably the most powerful photo editing software available anywhere for the specific use, because there aren’t many others who offer such options (Bugs, Affinity Photo, GIMP, and in a more limited fashion, Photoshop Elements). It’s that powerful.
One thing I will say is that the user interface has not changed much. It will not take an advanced user (or any user) long to learn the interface, however. The first thing I noticed is that I could not easily decide if things were being cut or copied. The icons could not have been more clear. The first time I opened a Drag & Drop document, I had no idea what it did, but I was able to very quickly figure it out. In addition, the File menu is quite limited. The only advantage of that menu (as opposed to the old Lightroom-style menu) is that it gives you the ability to quickly access any supported file format in the local file system. If you have a missing SDK plug in, and you have no idea what it is, you can access those from there. You can get to see PSD files and even see the information about them. 933d7f57e6
Adobe recently released an updated version of Photoshop for Windows. It is called Photoshop CS6. Normally, Photoshop CS6 isn’t released until January, but you can download the beta version of it if you are in need of a photo editing program. A big difference between the Windows versions of Photoshop CS5 and Photoshop CS6 is that CS6 is integrated with Photoshop Elements, which means that it supports more file formats, including, of course, RAW files.
Adobe also recently released updates to other Adobe products. These include Photoshop Elements 11.0, Photoshop CS6, Illustrator CS6, Dreamweaver CS6, and Premiere Pro CC (albeit in beta form). All of Adobe’s releases are available for purchase.
One of the last things I’d like to mention is that Adobe is working on a new web interface called Adobe Content Server 5.0. This is not meant to replace Photoshop Express. That program remains, so if you wish to upload your favorite photos from your smartphone to your computer, you can do that. You can also download Creative Cloud mobile apps to your smartphone and use it for easy access to all your files.
